Jesse Lingard loan move to West Ham United

Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard is all set to join West Ham United on a season-long loan deal.

Initially, it was reported that Solskjaer is not  keen on letting the 28-year-old leave because of the lack of depth in his side.

However, it appears that the Red Devils have now sanctioned his loan move and the player will join up with West Ham during the second half of the season.

Lingard has played just three times for Manchester United so far this season and a player of his quality needs to play more regularly.

With the Euros coming up this summer every player will be hoping to establish themselves in the national team squad and Lingard needs to play more often in order to do that.

West Ham needed attacking signing after the  sale of Sebastien Haller. It will be interesting to see if Lingard can make an immediate impact at his new club.

The 28-year-old can play in multiple positions and he could be a very useful option for David Moyes in the attack.

Furthermore, he will be an inexpensive signing and West Ham will be able to sign their preferred target in summer.

Donny Van de Beek Unhappy with game-time

Meanwhile Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek is currently unhappy with the situation at the Premier League club.

The Dutchman has struggled to secure regular game time at Old Trafford and it will be interesting to see if he can convince Solskjaer to start him more regularly.

The former Ajax midfielder is highly talented but he has struggled to hold out a regular starting berth because of how well Pogba and Fernandes have done in the recent months.

“I wouldn’t say that Donny is happy,” Solskjaer said. “Of course, he wants to play more, but he gets about his job in the right manner. We are doing well and have got players who are playing really well in his position.”

Bruno Fernandes touted as new “Cantona”

Midfielder Bruno Fernandes has been likened to the former Manchester United legend Eric Cantona because of the impact he has made at the club so far.

Cantona managed to transform Manchester United immediately after his move to Old Trafford and Fernandes has done just that.

The Portuguese international scored a stunning winner against Liverpool at the weekend and he has managed to deliver time and again when it mattered most for his team.

Martin Keown said: “I remember man-marking Eric Cantona on my England debut in 1992 and battling with him in the Premier League. Cantona unlocked the door for Manchester United’s success in his five seasons at the club. He and Bruno Fernandes are clearly different types of player, but Fernandes is having that Cantona effect.”
