Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has now signed a long term contract with the club.

The new deal will keep the Brazilian international at Anfield until the summer of 2027.

Since his move from Roma, Alisson has been a key player for Liverpool, and he has helped the Premier League club win the league title and a Champions League title.

The Brazilian is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world in his position, and his decision to commit his long term future to the club will come as a significant boost to the fans.

If Alisson sees out his latest contract, he will be at Anfield until the age of 34, and Liverpool will be able to enjoy his peak years.

Speaking to the media after signing his long term contract with the Premier League giants, Alisson revealed that he is very happy at the club and his family is well settled in England. Furthermore, the decision to extend his contract was not a hard one for him.

Alisson said: “I think I didn’t waste too much time to think about that. It’s something we just built in those last three years, the confidence, the trust that I have in the club and the club has in myself.

“Me and my family, we are really happy here. My kids are settled in England, in a different country, but they are growing up in that way. So we are really happy. I’m really glad that I can keep going on with my work here, doing a good job here. So, I’m really happy to make this decision – that is not hard for me.”

The Reds have recently agreed on new deals with Trent Alexander Arnold and Fabinho as well.

It will be interesting to see if they can sort out the long term futures of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk now.
