Arsenal are interested in the services of Brighton and Hove Albion defender Ben White according to The Mirror.

The defender who was recently called up to the England squad to replace injured Trent Alexander-Arnold is attracting interest from a host of clubs, including Arsenal.

The Gunners are on the market for a centre back to shore up their defence that will lose David Luiz this summer. And so, they have reportedly identified White as the man to replace the Brazilian.

The Brighton defender who is also attracting interest from Manchester United and Liverpool is valued at around £50 million by the club, making him one of the most expensive defenders in the current market.

In a recent interview, Brighton chief executive Paul Barber admitted the club could lose a player like White, stating that the right offer could convince them to part ways with their stat men.

‘We know some of our best players aren’t going to be with us forever,” he said.

‘And if the right offer comes along and they want to leave, then they can go.’

The 23-year-old was subject to a £25m bid from Leeds last season, but his club remained adamant that he was not for dale previous summer. He stayed back at the Amex Stadium and was instrumental in Brighton’s Premier League survival for another. White made 39 appearances in all competitions for Graham Potter’s side, helping them keep 12 clean sheets in the Premier League.
