Arsenal Roundup: Ozil almost certain to leave in January; Allegri linked

Mikel Arteta Arsenal Manager

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has been linked with a move away from the London club and it seems that he might get his wish when the transfer window reopens in January.

The former German international has fallen out of favour at the London club and he has not played for Arsenal this season.

The former World Cup winner has been frozen out of the first team and Arsenal are looking to get rid of the playmaker as soon as possible.

According to reports, Turkish side Fenerbahce could provide Mesut Ozil with an exit route in January and the transfer is 90% certain.

Ozil needs to play more often at this stage of his career and a move to Turkey could help him resurrect his career.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have made a very poor start to their Premier League season and they have lost six of their eleven League games so far.

The Gunners are closer to the relegation zone than they would have expected and Mikel Arteta is under immense pressure right now.

Former Juventus manager Max Allegri has been linked as a potential replacement for the Spaniard at Arsenal.

Allegri took a break at the end of the 2018/19 season and he revealed In December 2019 that he would take some time off for a year before returning to management.

Therefore, he is likely to return soon and it will be interesting to see if Arteta can hold on to his job by turning around his team’s performances in the coming weeks.
