Chelsea linked with Layvin Kurzawa

Layvin Kurzawa-PSG

Chelsea are reportedly keen on improving their defensive unit this month, and they have identified the Paris Saint-Germain defender Layvin Kurzawa as a target.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues are yet to open talks with the French giants regarding Kurzawa, but there could be a movement soon.

It is no secret that Chelsea a lacking in depth in the left-back department right now because of an injury to Ben Chilwell, and it is no surprise that they are looking to bring in Kurzawa this month.

The defender had the opportunity to move to the Premier League at the start of the season, but he ended up staying at the French club.

Kurzawa has struggled for regular game time at Paris Saint-Germain, and it will be interesting to see if he’s tempted to move to Stamford Bridge this month.

Chelsea are currently dependent on Marcos Alonso as their only left-back, and Kurzawa could get considerable game time if he moves to Stamford Bridge in January.

The defender might be tempted to move to the Premier League and prove himself at a top club like Chelsea, and it remains to be seen how the situation evolves over the next few days.

The Blues are currently in the title race, and they will need more quality and depth in their squad in order to compete on all fronts.

Kurzawa has the quality to succeed at Stamford Bridge, and he could be an upgrade on Marcos Alonso, especially at the back.

The Spanish left-back is quite impressive going forward, but he has proven to be a liability at the back at times.

It remains to be seen whether Thomas Tuchel can bring in a left bag before the window closes.

The Blues have been linked with a move for Emerson Palmieri as well.
