Chelsea are reportedly keen on signing the Juventus defender Matthijs De Ligt.

Chelsea interested in Matthijs De Ligt

The Dutchman is regarded as one of the finest young defensive talents around Europe right now, and he’s seen as a long term successor to Thiago Silva.

According to reports, Juventus are not keen on selling the player anytime soon, but the Blues are determined to try their luck with an audacious offer.

Chelsea are preparing a bid for the defender worth around £51 million-plus Timo Werner.

A report further states that the Italian giants would prefer Jorginho in the swap transfer instead of the German forward.

The Italian international has been in exceptional form for the Blues this past season, and he helped his country win the Euros as well.

Jorginho would be a superb addition to the Juventus midfield, and it is no surprise that the Turin giants are keen on him. The Italians need to bring in an upgrade on the likes of Aaron Ramsey, and the Chelsea star would be an ideal fit.

The German international is set to be a backup option to Romelu Lukaku next season, and the Blues are looking to cut their losses on him.

Lukaku is expected to complete his move to Chelsea in the coming days.

Chelsea and Juventus Defensive Organization

Meanwhile, Thiago Silva turns 37 next month, and he will enter his final season with the Blues. It is understandable why Chelsea are planning to replace him.

The Premier League giants have been linked with the likes of Jules Kounde from Sevilla as well.

It will be interesting to see if Juventus are prepared to sell the Dutchman for the reported offer in the coming weeks.

They paid a fee of £67.7 million for De Ligt just two years ago, and the Dutchman has been earmarked as a long term replacement for Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini.
