Chelsea update: Haaland, Upamecano interest; Terry’s Mount admission, Tuchel promises fresh start for Kepa

Chelsea could continue with Kepa this season

Tuchel confirms interest in Bundesliga duo

Chelsea gaffer Thomas Tuchel has confirmed the club’s interest in Dortmund striker Erling Haaland and Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano, stating that he has the same interest as every fan does.

The Bundesliga duo have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in the summer and the Blues are expected to support Tuchel financially like they did last summer.

Tuchel said,”I can understand your interest in that question and I can understand the interest of every fan and supporter to talk about these subjects.

“I am also always a fan and interested in what is going on. But now is February. There is a long way to go.

“As you know me or maybe get to know me better, I will not talk about other players publicly when they are under contract.”

John Terry makes a bold claim on Mason Mount

Former Blues defender John Terry has claimed that Mason Mount is destined to captain both Chelsea and England National team.

Terry says that the young midfielder possesses all the qualities to become a future leader for both the club and the country.

“He’s been the best player at Chelsea this season to be honest.

“He’s a great lad, trains unbelievably well, is Chelsea through and through and shows leadership qualities.

“In my mind he’ll be Chelsea and England captain.”

Kepa will be handed a new start

Tuchel has confirmed that the out of favour Kepa Arrizabalaga will start in the FA cup game against Barnsley. The German manager also stated that it could be the starting point to revive his career. The Spanish keeper endured a torrid spell last term, which forced the Blues to bring in a new keeper in Edouard Mendy. The former Rennes goalkeeper has made a great impression from the off and etched his place as the Blues No.1
