Everton 0-2 Fulham: Maja brace secures shock win for the Londoners

Carlo Ancelotti-Everton

Everton were beaten 2-0 by Fulham in the Premier League earlier tonight.

Josh Maja scored both goals for the London side on his first start for the club.

Carlo Ancelotti will be bitterly disappointed with the way his side performed at home today. They managed to beat Tottenham in the FA Cup in their last game and the fans would have expected them to pick up a comfortable win against Fulham.

The Londoners have been in quite poor form overall this season and Everton would have been firm favourites to win here.

The Toffees will be hoping to secure European qualification this season and they cannot afford to put in performances like these.

Fulham could have easily won with a bigger margin but the likes of Bobby de Cordova-Reed hit the post from a corner on the 9th minute and Harrison Reed failed to hit the target from close range.

Seamus Coleman hit the crossbar for Everton with his 25-yard effort as well.

Fulham took the lead three minutes into the second half when Josh Maja slid the ball home from two yards after a cross from Ademola Lookman.

The striker doubled Fulham’s advantage on the 68th minute with his second goal of the night from a rebound after Reed’s attempt came back off the post.

Fulham are now 18th in the League table and Everton remain 7th with 37 points.
