Jesse Lingard linked with a shock loan move to Real Sociedad

Jesse Lingard-Manchester United

The Manchester United outcast has been linked with a loan to La Liga in January.

Manchester United outcast Jesse Lingard has got new suitors in Real Sociedad, who are currently topping the La Liga table.

According to reports, Lingard’s representatives have held talks with Sociedad over a loan move as the English midfielder is desperate for playing time.

Lingard has become a fringe player with the Reds after losing his place in the first team. Bruno Fernandes’ arrival to Old Trafford last year has further withered down his chances. There were talks regarding Lingard’s departure last summer with many Premier League clubs said to be interested in signing him.

The 27-year-old has his contract running until next summer and it is unlikely that United reward him a contract extension.

Sociedad are ready to recruit Lingard on loan as they wanted to replicate the transfer of David Silva from Manchester City in the summer.

La Real have been unstoppable this season and besides their on-field heroics, their transfer strategies and youth prospects have been a great hit. Imanol Alguacil’s men are currently second in the La Liga table, trailing leaders Atletico Madrid by a point.

Lingard, who hasn’t appeared for any Premier League games this season, could reinstate his form if he moves to a club like Sociedad where he is more welcome than any other place.

Furthermore, the English playmaker can also help La Real be successful in the title challenge this season.
