West Ham United are reportedly keen on signing Jesse Lingard on a free transfer this summer.

The 29-year-old’s contract with Manchester United expired earlier, and he will be looking to seal a permanent move away from Old Trafford now.

The England attacker was on loan at West Ham in 2021 and made quite an impact at the London club.

Lingard managed to score 9 goals in 16 appearances for the hammers, and he was heavily linked with a return to West Ham last Premier League season.

However, the player decided to stay at Old Trafford and fight for a place in the first team.

The 29-year-old barely had any opportunities to showcase his qualities at Manchester United last season, and he needs to join a club where he can play regular first-team football.

Apparently, an agreement with West Ham is close, and the player is all set to return to the London club once again.

David Moyes needs to add more attacking depth to his side, and the arrival of Lingard could prove to be a wise decision.

The player is well suited to his style of play, and he could make an immediate impact next season.

Lingard has already plate under Moyes, and he knows the club well.

The hammers were overly reliant on Michail Antonio for goals last season, and they struggled when Antonio was sidelined with injuries.

It is imperative that the hammers bring in more than one goal scorer this summer, and they have been linked with a move for the Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri as well.

The hammers were in the race for Champions League qualification last season, and bringing in the right players could help them push for a top-four finish next season.

There is no doubt that West Ham have an impressive squad at their disposal, and they are capable of competing at a very high level with the right editions.

As for Jesse Lingard, he will be hoping to kick start his career with a move to West Ham and push for a place in the England side ahead of the World Cup.
