Lautaro Martinez move looking unlikely

Arsenal could face a setback in their efforts to sign the Argentine forward Lautaro Martinez this summer.

According to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport, the 24-year-old striker is a key player for the Italian giants and Inter Milan are not looking to sell him this summer.

The Gunners need to sign a quality striker to replace the likes of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah.

Martinez could have been a quality acquisition for them but it seems that they might have to turn their attentions elsewhere in order to fulfil their attacking void.

The 24-year-old Argentine would have been an ideal fit for Mikel Arteta’s playing style.

Martinez is more than just a goal scorer and his technical ability and creativity would have improved Arsenal significantly in the attack.

Nkunku on Arsenal’s radar

Meanwhile, the Gunners are looking to add more creativity in the final third as well and they have identified French midfielder Christopher Nkunku as a target.

The 24-year-old has been an exceptional form this season and it will be interesting to see if the Gunners can agree on a fee with RB Leipzig.

According to Football London, Chelsea and Manchester United are keen on securing his services as well.

The Frenchman can play anywhere across the front three and as an attacking midfielder as well. His versatility will be an added bonus for the Gunners.

The 24-year-old French international is having the best season of his career with RB Leipzig this year and he has managed to score 34 goals and pickup 20 assists across all competitions this season.
