Leicester City
Leicester City will look to get their first league win of the season when they welcome Aston Villa to King Power Stadium this Saturday.
The hosts have endured a miserable run of form this season having lost five out of their six opening games of the season.
Their last result was a miserable 5-2 loss against Brighton; a game they lost despite scoring in the first minute of the match.
As such, they come into this tie sitting at the bottom of the league table, with just one point to show. Their poor form has been down to a defence that has failed to keep a clean sheet this season while also conceding a whopping 16 goals.
For context, only newly-promoted Bournemouth who conceded nine goals against Liverpool have conceded more goals than Brendan Rodgers’ men. But things do not look like they will improve soon after they lost key defender Wesley Fofana to Chelsea this summer.
But if there is a side they will want to face amidst their struggles, it will be an Aston Villa side who are bereft of confidence after a poor start to the season.
Possible Leicester City starting line-up
Danny Ward; Luke Thomas, Jonny Evans, Daniel Amartey, James Justin; Wilfred Ndidi; Youri Tielemans, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, James Maddison, Harvey Barnes; Jamie Vardy.
Injured: Ricardo Pereira, Ryan Bertrand
Doubtful: None
Suspended: None
Aston Villa
Like their hosts, Villa are also enduring a nightmare start to the new season having lost four of their opening six league games (W1, D1), leaving them hovering just above the relegation zone.
But unlike their hosts, Steven Gerrard’s men have had a few things to cheer about, including a credible 1-1 draw with Manchester City last weekend as well as the summer additions of Diego Carlos and Boubacar Kamara.
While Leicester have struggled at the back, the visitors’ main struggles have been in attack where they are yet to register more than a single goal in any of their matches so far.
And so with a struggling attack meeting a struggling defence, fans of both teams will be hoping for their team to capitalise on the weaknesses of the other. But given that Villa have won just one of their last eight EPL away fixtures (D1, L6), which included a 0-0 stalemate at the King Power Stadium in April, this is likely to be another game low on goals.
Possible Aston Villa starting line-up
Emi Martinez; Matty Cash, Ezri Konsa, Tyrone Mings, Lucas Digne; John McGinn, Jacob Ramsey, Boubacar Kamara; Ollie Watkins, Emi Buendia, Leon Bailey.
Injured: Diego Carlos
Doubtful: Leander Dendoncker
Suspended: None
