Liverpool beat Bayern Munich to sign Bobby Clark

Klopp confirms Liverpool departure date

Liverpool signed talented youngster Bobby Clark from Newcastle United earlier this summer.

The son of the former Newcastle United legend Lee Clark is one of the hottest young prospects in English football right now and the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich were keen on securing his services.

“Bobby was Newcastle’s most promising youngster,” the Newcastle Chronicle’s chief Newcastle United reporter Lee Ryder told the ECHO.

“He is a really exciting player with bags of skill and talent. He could have lit up the stage at St James’ Park but now he has gone to Liverpool and that is a real kick in the teeth.

“Tottenham were in for him, Bayern Munich were at one point, and I heard a host of other top clubs around the continent knew about him – but he decided to go to Liverpool.”

According to reports, a personal conversation with the Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp convinced the youngster that Liverpool is the right place for his development.

The technically gifted youngster has been compared to the former England legend Paul Gascoigne because of his technical ability and style of play.

The player will be hoping to continue his development as a footballer at Anfield under the tutelage of Jurgen Klopp over the next few years.

The German manager has always backed young talents since arriving at Liverpool and Clarke will be hoping to force his way into Klopp’s first-team plans in the coming years.

The fact that Liverpool have always promoted young talents to their first team is probably a key factor in the youngster choosing to move to Merseyside.

Clark will have seen the development of Trent Alexander Arnold and Harvey Elliott in recent seasons and Klopp could be the man to unlock his tremendous potential.
