Liverpool updates: Thiago transfer, Wijnaldum future, Watford star eyed
Thiago Alcantara agreement
Liverpool have agreed to a 25m pounds transfer for their long-time target Thiago Alcantara. The Reds turned out to be the potential suitors for Bayern Midfielder but raised fears after not submitting any official bids. However, the Premier League Champions have made a breakthrough now after striking a four-year deal with the Spaniard.
Jurgen Klopp comments on Georginio Wijnaldum
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has stated there are no concerns over Georginio Wijnaldum’s future at Anfield. The Dutch midfielder has been linked with a move to Barcelona, with Ronald Koeman planning for a reunion.
“Since Gini is here, I think I have had five, six hundred talks with him so that is always the same, nothing else to say about that.
“Of course I’ve spoken to him since he came back from international duty. Yes, it is absolutely fine about the future.
“Between, me, Gini and the club everything is completely fine.”
Wijnaldum’s position at the club was questioned with the prospect of Thiago’s arrival.
Ismaila Sarr wanted by the Reds
The Reds are exploring the possibilities to sign Watford star Ismaila Sarr. Klopp wants to reinforce the attack and is seeing the 22-year-old as the ideal option. However, the Hornets would demand around 36m pounds for Sarr. The Senegalese forward had his breakout season last term, scoring six goals and providing three assists. He was impressive in Liverpool’s first defeat in the Premier League last season.
