Man United Transfer: Kounde pursuit, Mata future, Solskjaer in contact with Haaland

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer-Manchester United

Manchester United have been linked with the Sevilla defender Jules Kounde.

The highly talented Frenchman is one of the most exciting young defenders around Europe right now and Manchester United could certainly use someone like him.

The likes of Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly have been quite inconsistent this season an Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to bring in someone who can push them for the starting berth and make them work harder.

Kounde has the potential to develop into a world-class defender and he would improve Manchester United instantly.

However the player has a release clause of around £68 million and the Premier League side are thought to be unwilling to pay that much for him.

It will be interesting to see if the Red Devils can convince the Spanish outfit to part with their best defender this summer for a more reasonable fee.

Solskjaer in contact with Haaland

Meanwhile the Manchester United manager has claimed that he remains in contact with the Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.

Solskjaer said: “I keep in touch with Erling. It’s great to see him become the player he has become and I know he’ll work to improve all the time. He’s a Dortmund player, we just wish him well there and let’s see what life will bring later on.”

The 20 year old has been linked with United in recent months and it will be interesting to see where he ends up this summer.

The Manchester United manager coached the Norwegian striker during his time at Molde and he wanted to bring the player to Manchester United in the past as well. However, the transfer never materialized.

Haaland has developed into one of the most exciting young players in world football since then and it will be interesting to see if Solskjaer manages to convince the Norwegian to move to Old Trafford in the near future.

Juan Mata future

Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has been linked with a move to Italy recently.

The 32 year old Spaniard will be a free agent at the end of this season and the Old Trafford outfit have not opened talks regarding an extension with him just yet.

The playmaker has fallen down the pecking order at Manchester United and he needs to leave the club in order to play regularly.

A move to Italy or Spain could be ideal for him at this stage of his career.

It will be interesting to see where the Spaniard ends up eventually.
