Juventus have come from behind to outplay Lazio 3-1 in a thrilling contest of Serie A today, as they reduced the gap with second-place AC Milan to one point .

Andrea Pirlo opted against starting Cristiano Ronaldo keeping in mind the Champions League clash against Porto next week.

The Old Lady were handed an early blow after striker Joaquin Correa opened the account for the Biancocelesti.

Juve, who were lacklustre throughout the first half, found the equaliser through Adrien Rabiot right before the break.

Alvaro Morata, who set up for the first strike, scored two goals in no time to make it 3-1 for the Old Lady.

The Spanish striker stepped up in the absence of Ronaldo and his tally has risen to 7 goals and 8 assists in Serie A thus far.

Juve have reduced their gap with AC Milan to one point and are also trailing leaders Inter Milan by seven points.

Pirlo would be happy to see his side dominate even without the talisman Ronaldo for the larger parts of the game.

The Italian manager offered his thoughts on the comeback win. 

“We started badly and conceded with our poor backpass, but then there was a strong reaction from the whole team, despite missing so many players.

“We didn’t let our heads drop, we started to step up the tempo and that was the most important thing

“What I liked the most was the reaction of the team, as we didn’t accept being behind in such a delicate and important game, so it was that spirit I appreciated.”
