Zinedine Zidane-Real Madrid

Former Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has replaced Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer as the new interim manager of the club but the Red Devils are thought to be looking at a more permanent replacement.

The Premier League giants have been linked with several top-class managers from across Europe in recent weeks and here at Anytime football, we look at five potential candidates who could take over at Old Trafford.

Ralf Rangnick

The German manager is currently the head of sports development at Lokomotiv Moscow and Manchester United could certainly use his expertise and experience.

Ralf Rangnick has proven himself at different clubs throughout his career and his eye for talent could help the Red Devils recruit the top young talents across Europe.

Erik Ten Hag

The Ajax manager has done an exceptional job at the Dutch club so far this season.

The Eredivisie giants are currently flying under his management and they have lost just twice in all competitions so far this season.

He would certainly be an upgrade on Carrick and his arrival would add a free-flowing attacking style of football for the Manchester United side as well.

Mauricio Pochettino

The Paris Saint-Germain manager has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford and it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils can bring him back to the Premier League.

Mauricio Pochettino has struggled at PSG and if the French outfit decide to relieve him of his duties a return to the Premier League will be tempting for him.

The Argentine has proven himself in England with Tottenham Hotspur and he could do a quality job at Old Trafford as well.

Brendan Rodgers

The Leicester City manager knows the pressure of managing a top club from his time at Liverpool and he could prove to be a quality addition for the Red Devils.

Brendan Rodgers has helped the Foxes win the FA Cup and the Community Shield since moving to the King Power Stadium and he could help Manchester United end their wait for a trophy.

The Northern Irishman has an impressive track record of improving young players and the likes of Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho could improve immensely under his management.

Zinedine Zidane

The Frenchman is currently out of a job after leaving Real Madrid and he would be available on a free transfer.

Zinedine Zidane has won multiple trophies at Real Madrid and he is a proven winner. The Frenchman knows what it takes to manage a club with Manchester United’s expectations and he could prove to be an ideal fit for the Red Devils.
