Manchester United prepared to pay Julian Alvarez’s release clause

Argentine striker Julian Alvarez has been linked with a move away from River Plate, and it seems that the player could be on the move during the January transfer window.

According to a report from Sport, the likes of BarcelonaReal MadridInter Milan, and Bayern Munich are keen on signing the youngster. Still, Manchester United are currently leading the race to sign the player, period.

The Argentine striker’s agent Fernando Hidalgo will travel to England for talks this week, and the Red Devils are apparently willing to pay the striker’s release clause of around €20 million.

River Plate are unwilling to sell the player below his release clause, and the fact that Manchester United are willing to stump up the cash for the player means that the transfer should be straightforward.

It is no secret that the Red Devils need to add more attacking quality to the squad, and the arrival of Julian Alvarez could prove to be a quality long term acquisition.

Anthony Martial has been linked with a move away from Manchester United this month, and Alvarez could replace the Frenchman in Ralf Rangnick’s side.

The Argentine striker scored 23 goals and picked up 18 assists in 2021, and he managed to win the title with River Plate.

The 21-year-old has the potential to develop into a world-class footballer, and the Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick could help him achieve his potential.

The German is an excellent coach who will nurture the Argentine’s talents and help accelerate his development.

It remains to be seen whether the Red Devils can finalise the signing in the coming days and fend off the competition from the other European heavyweights.
