The Egyptian forward is reportedly demanding a lucrative contract at Anfield.

Mohamed Salah has been in sublime form for Liverpool this season, racking up a total of 9 goals and 3 assists so far across all competitions.

Although his on-field heroics are grabbing the headlines, there are concerns over his future at Anfield.

It has been reported that Salah is demanding an improved contract with higher wages, and the Merseyside outfit are pondering over it.

According to a new report from the Mirror, the 29-year-old wants up to £380,000 a week – nearly double the wages he is currently earning – as he aims to be the Reds’ top earner ahead of Virgil Van Dijk.

Salah has established himself as one of the world’s best forwards under Jurgen Klopp since his transfer from AS Roma. He also helped the Reds win the Premier League title in the 2019/20 season and the Champions League the previous season.

While Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino – Salah’s strike partners – have slowed a bit in the last two seasons, Salah continues to show his world-class abilities with each passing season.

The Egyptian has been amassing plaudits for his sensational form this season, with many calling him the best player in the world at the moment.

Salah is undoubtedly a key player for the Reds’ future but it remains to be seen whether they can meet his astronomical wage demands.

The Merseyside outfit knew that Salah could easily catch the attention of European giants, and bringing a replacement to match his potential is also a tough ask.
