Mourinho takes another swipe at Tottenham ace Dele Alli

Jose Mourinho-Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has been struggling to win over the new manager Jose Mourinho and it seems that his starting birth at the club took another blow after the 1-0 defeat to Royal Antwerp in the Europa League during the midweek.

The highly-rated attacking midfielder was taken off at half time along with three other players and Mourinho warned the players for the poor performances.

The Tottenham manager claimed that some of the performances during the midweek have made his decisions easy for the upcoming games and it seems that he’s unlikely to rely on the fringe players anymore.

Jose Mourinho had a similar situation during his time as the Manchester United manager as well.

The Portuguese manager was heavily criticised for his treatment of Romelu Lukaku but poor performances from the  Belgium striker helped Mourinho prove to the media why he wasn’t selecting the former Chelsea star in his starting line ups back then.

Mourinho said: “I would like to make eleven changes (against Antwerp). After tonight, my future choices are going to be very easy. We got what we deserved. We let them win, I can say that.”

Alli has been linked with a move away from Tottenham and it will be interesting to see if the attacking midfielder decides to move on when the transfer window opens in January.

A player of his calibre deserves to play regularly and if Tottenham cannot provide him with that platform, it would be wise of him to move to another club.
