Ralf Rangnick will not take up a consultancy role at Manchester United

Manchester City and United have decided - not to furlough staff

The two-year consultancy role was agreed upon as part of Rangnick’s arrival at Old Trafford in December.

Ralf Rangnick was appointed by Manchester United until the end of the season, taking over after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s dismissal.

The 63-year-old German confirmed the news and will concentrate on his new job in charge of the Austria National Football team as their manager.

According to BBC, a United statement read: “By mutual agreement, Ralf will now focus solely on his new role as manager of the Austria national team and will not, therefore, be taking up a consultancy role at Old Trafford.”

Under the management of Rangnick, United won only 38% of their games. The 38% showed negative results of any United manager in the Premier League era and the club’s worst win percentage for 50 years.

By finishing sixth in the table, Man UTD are qualified for the Europa League.

Meanwhile, Rangnick will replace by Erik ten Hag at the end of the season.
