Jadon Sancho ended his goal drought in the Champions League win over Villarreal.

Manchester United star Jadon Sancho put on an impressive performance in the 2-0 win against Villarreal in the Champions League.

The 21-year-old has endured a torrid spell with the Red Devils since moving from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

Sancho struggled to nail down a place in the starting 11 under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was sacked recently.

However, the Three Lions star was thrown into the starting 11 against Villarreal, which was also the first game for interim manager Michael Carrick.

As it turned out, Sancho played a key part in the comprehensive win against the La Liga outfit and also scored his maiden goal for the Red Devils.

With Ronaldo also finding the scoresheet, United picked up their third win of the UCL this season and have secured their place to the round of 16.

Former Man Utd midfielder Paul Scholes was also in full praise of Sancho following his stunning display against Unai Emery’s side.

Scholes claimed that Sancho was the best player against Villarreal and he needs to get more minutes moving forward.

The former midfielder said (h/t The Daily Mail): “He looked fitter than he has done. I was really pleased for him. A really young player who’s had a difficult start. But I thought he was United’s best player tonight.

“I think they need to use him more. Playing in this team is a little different, because he doesn’t have a flying full-back like he did at Dortmund, which I think helps.

“He wants to play further up. He’s such a clever footballer. I think he’s fitter. You just look at him, I think he looks half a stone slimmer.”

Sancho would have gained more confidence after last night’s heroics, having gone goalless in 14 games across all competitions.

United will travel to Chelsea for their next Premier League game and Sancho would look to continue his impressive form.
