Ten Hag wants Ronaldo to stay
Manchester United attacker Cristiano Ronaldo has just one year left on his current contract and the Red Devils are keen on holding on to him beyond this season.
The Premier League side have recently confirmed that Ajax manager Erik Ten Hag will take over as the club’s new manager next season and the Dutchman is keen to keep the Portuguese international at the club next season.
According to a report from the Telegraph, Ten Hag believes that it would be foolish to let the 37-year-old leave the club before his contract expires.
Despite the fact that Manchester United have struggled all season Cristiano Ronaldo has been in outstanding form and he has managed to score 24 goals across all competitions.
There is no doubt that Ronaldo remains one of the best goal scorers on the planet and he could make a huge difference in the final third for Manchester United.
Man United keen on Hugo Ekitike
That said, the Red Devils are looking to improve their attacking options during the summer transfer window.
According to the latest reports, the Red Devils have made an inquiry over the availability of Reims striker Hugo Ekitike.
The 19-year-old striker could be available for a fee of around £13m this summer and it remains to be seen whether Manchester United can agree on a deal for him in the coming weeks.
The French youth international has been in impressive form for Reims this season and he has scored 9 goals in 21 league appearances.
The youngster has the potential to develop into a top-class player and Ten Hag could help him realise his tremendous potential.
