AS Roma

Jose Mourinho‘s AS Roma will look to get back to winning ways when they welcome his former side to the Stadio Olimpico this weekend.

The hosts come into this game on the back of a 1-0 loss to Bologna in the league. A first-half goal from Swedish midfielder Mattias Svanberg ensured victory for Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side and ended Roma’s three game-winning run.

After going four games without a clean sheet, Mourinho’s side kept three on the bounce before their loss to Bologna. An inconsistent start to the season has ‘I Giallorossi’ currently occupying the fifth spot on the league standings.

They are currently six points adrift of fourth-placed Atalanta heading into the weekend. A win in this game will see them close the gap on the top given that Atalanta have a tough game coming up against Napoli.

Possible AS Roma starting line-ups

Rui Patricio, Gianluca Mancini, Chris Smalling, Roger Ibanez, Rick Karsdorp, Jordan Veretout, Bryan Cristante, Matias Vina, Nicolo Zaniolo, Tammy Abraham, Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Injured: Lorenzo Pellegrini, Leonardo Spinazzola

Doubtful: Gonzalo Villar, Felix Afena-Gyan

Suspended: None

Inter Milan

Inter Milan continued their impressive form last time out by beating struggling Spezia 2-0 in midweek. Goals from midfielder Roberto Gagliardini and Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez sealed the win for Simone Inzaghi’s side and extended their unbeaten run to ten games in all competitions.

The win over Thiago Motta’s side was also the third consecutive 2-0 victory they have enjoyed across all competitions.

After an patchy start to the season, the defending champions have found their groove and are entering this tie in third place, just two points off the top placed Napoli. This has been made possible by a record of five wins in their last six SA games (D1).

They will aim to continue their impressive form and keep the pressure on AC Milan and Napoli who also have a difficult game coming up this weekend.

Given their recent form, Inzaghi’s side will fancy their chance of picking up maximum points in this game.

Possible Inter Milan starting line-ups

Samir Handanovic, Danilo D’Ambrosio, Milan Skriniar, Federico Dimarco, Denzel Dumfries, Nicolo Barella, Marcelo Brozovic, Hakan Calhanoglu, Ivan Perisic, Lautaro Martinez, Edin Dzeko.

Injured: Matteo Darmian, Andrea Ranocchia

Doubtful: Stefan de Vrij, Alessandro Bastoni
