Crotone 0-2 Lazio: Immobile, Correa scores in rain-ravaged game

Lazio 5-1 Verona Immobile scored a hat-trick

Ciro Immobile scores on his return as Lazio continue undefeated run in Serie A.

Lazio have emerged winners in the Serie A away fixture against Crotone although the game had the risk of getting called off due to bad weather.

Ciro Immobile put Lazio ahead in the 21st minute as he headed the ball to the nets after a brilliant long ball from Parolo.

Immobile, who was absent for previous fixtures due to testing positive for Coronavirus, scored on his return and the goal also tied him with Lazio’s second-highest scorer of all time Giuseppe Signori (107 goals).

Lazio doubled the lead in the second half following Joaquin Correa’s brilliant goal, beating Crotone’s defence and goalkeeper in a difficult angle through his left foot.

The Argentine striker was once again impressive in the win as he was against Juventus in the previous fixture in Serie A.

Simone Inzaghi’s side has now gone undefeated in seven games across all competitions, and today’s win also put them fourth in Serie A table.

Inzaghi was full of praise for striker duo Immobile and Correa following the win.

“Ciro was excellent, he’s a leader and scored a very important goal to win a very difficult game against a team that in my view is playing good games.”

“I think Immobile is doing great things, his statistics are excellent. I am also happy for Correa, as he had scored in the Champions League and now got his goal in Serie A. He arrived on Friday after two flights and with jetlag, I asked him for this huge sacrifice and he repaid me today.
