Lazio

Lazio will look to get back to winning ways when they welcome Napoli to Rome.

Maurizio Sarri’s men come into this game off the back of what would have been a heartbreaking draw against Sampdoria. After going ahead in the 21st minute courtesy of Ciro Immobile’s second League goal of the season, Lazio controlled the game from then on, threatening to score but were unable to find their second goal. The Biancocelesti will come to rue their missed chances as their hosts equalised in stoppage time to steal a well-deserved point.

With the draw, Lazio currently sit in sixth place level on points with third-placed Napoli and two points adrift League leaders As Roma.

With the Italian League heating up, Maurizio Sarri will be anxious to have his boys pick up maximum points against the Naples-based outfit as they look to make a return to the Champions League come next season.

Coming up against Luciano Spalletti’s team has been one hell of a job for the Biancocelesti as they have failed to beat Napoli in their last three attempts, only managing to do so once in their last five attempts, suffering some heavy defeats in the process.

Albeit, Luciano Spalletti’s men are yet to hit their stride, picking up just two points in their last two games, so Maurizio Sarri will be hoping his boys produce a master class as they did against Inter Milan, beating the Italian giants 3-1.

Possible Lazio starting line-up

Ivan Provedel; Manuel Lazzari, Patric, Alessio Romagnoli, Adam Marusic; Toma Basic, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Danilo Cataldi; Felipe Anderson, Ciro Immobile, Mattia Zaccagni.

Napoli

After scoring nine goals in their first two games, Napoli’s fine start seems to have come to a grinding halt as they are winless in their last two games, first playing out a goalless draw with Fiorentina followed by a 1-1 draw with Leece.

Luciano Spalletti’s team missed out on the Scudetto last season by finishing seven points behind eventual winners AC Milan, and while Jose Mourinho’s men who finished outside the top four last season have gone on to find some consistency this season, the Naples-based outfit are currently playing catch up with the Giallorossi who are currently topping the league charts with two points ahead of third-placed Napoli.

I Partenopei come into this encounter in need of a win if they are to mount a better challenge than they did last season, and they will certainly fancy themselves to take all three points against Biancocelesti in a fixture they have dominated in recent history, winning four out of their last five meetings.

Possible Napoli starting line-up

Alex Meret; Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Amir Rrahmani, Kim Min-jae, Mario Rui; Andre Zambo Anguissa, Stanislav Lobotkap; Matteo Politano, Giacomo Raspadori, Kvaratskhelia; Victor Osimhen.

Injured: Diego Demme, Adam Ounas
