Inter 4-0 Benevento: Inter secure a thumping win, as Lukaku bags a brace

Romelu Lukaku-Lautaro Martinez-Inter Milan

Inter Milan picked up a 4-0 win over Benevento in the Italian League earlier tonight.

The away side had a horrible start to the game after Improta gave Inter Milan the lead with an own goal on the 7th minute.

Benevento struggled to get a foothold in the game from there on and Inter Milan were firm favourites to go on and secure the three points.

The home side doubled their advantage on the 57th minute through Lautaro Martinez and they were in cruise control after that.

Belgian international Romelu Lukaku has been in red hot form for Inter Milan this season and he bagged a brace in the second half to seal the three points for his side.

Lukaku scored his opening goal on the 67th minute and then wrapped up the scoring on the 78th minute.

Inter Milan are now second in the Italian League table with 44 points and they are just two points behind League leaders and cross town rivals AC Milan.

It will be interesting to see if they can close the gap and climb to the top of the table in the upcoming weeks. They are above the reigning champions Juventus and they will fancy their chances of going all the way this season.

Meanwhile, Benevento are 12th in the League table with 22 points and they will have to get back to winning ways soon if they want to secure a respectable finish in the League this season.
