Tottenham Hotspur have made the signing of Borussia Mönchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram the priority signing this summer as they prepare for life without Harry Kane.
The North London side are getting ready to lose Kane this summer and have identified Thuram as the man to replace the striker when he departs.
According to RMC Sport, Tottenham have met with the Frenchman’s entourage and are in advanced negotiations with the player who is currently with the France Euro 2020 squad.
Thuram, who is the son of legendary defender French and World Cup winner Lilian Thuram, has been a revelation in the Bundesliga since joining Gladbach in the summer of 2019 from French side Guingamp.
The attacker was instrumental in his side’s remarkable season, scoring ten goals in his debut Bundesliga season as Marco Rose’s side finished in fourth.
Although his second season in Germany did not go as planned as Gladbach finished in eighth place, he still managed to score eight league goals and was the star performer in his side’s brief but exciting Champions League campaign last season.
The winger has been attracting interest from a host of clubs and, in the last, was linked to Manchester City and Liverpool. But if reports are to be believed, Daniel Levy has fought off competition from every other side and is making headway in acquiring the signature of the 23-year-old.
He made his France debut last November and is part of Didier Deschamps’ travelling party for Euro 2020.
