Bengaluru 2-2 NorthEast United: Machado double ensures a point for NorthEast

Luis Machado-NorthEast United

Bengaluru FC were held to a 2-2 draw against NorthEast United in the Indian Super League earlier today.

The two teams were involved in a high octane, end to end contest but neither side managed to emerge victorious in the end.

Both sides played free-flowing attacking football and they managed to create plenty of chances for themselves.

Bengaluru conceded their fastest  goal in the Indian Super League history on the 4th minute.

Rochharzela cut in from the right side and his shot went looping into the Bengaluru net after a deflection of Machado.

Bangaluru managed to come back into the game when Juanan scored on the 13th minute and then substitute Udanta Singh put Bengaluru ahead on the 70th minute.

At one point it seemed like the Blues would go on to pick up a vital win but Machado scored his second of the game on the 78th minute to ensure a point for his side.

NorthEast United will be disappointed to have come away with just a draw after having made a superb start.

However, Bengaluru were the better team overall and a draw is probably a fair result in the end.

They had plenty of chances to score more goals in the first half. Ashique Kuruniyan and Harmanjot Khabra had clear cut chances but they failed to hit the target.

After Bengaluru’s equaliser on the 78th minute, both teams had the chances to score a winner but they failed to convert in the end.
