Chennaiyin FC edge past FC Goa in a 2-1 win in the Indian Super League

Chennaiyin FC picked up a 2-1 win over FC Goa in the Indian Super League earlier tonight.

Rafael Crivellaro gave Chennaiyin FC their lead 5 minutes into the game but FC Goa managed to get back into the game soon after through Jorge Ortiz on the 9th minute.

Rahim Ali scored the winner for Chennaiyin FC on the 53rd minute to give them all three points.

The win takes Chennai up to 8th in the Indian Super League table with just eight points from six matches and they will be hoping to build on this and put together a winning run now.

Meanwhile FC Goa are seventh in the table after tonight’s defeat with eight points as well but they have played seven matches and they will have to improve a lot in order to challenge the likes of Mumbai city and ATK Mohun Bagan.

Both teams had plenty of chances to score here but their finishing was far from convincing.

There were 39 shots on goal from both teams but neither side managed to convert their chances because of their poor finishing.

It will be interesting to see if they can improve in the coming weeks now.

Both teams are under pressure after a poor start to the Indian Super League and the fans will be expecting a better performance from the players in the coming weeks.

Chennaiyin FC were probably the better team on the balance of play and they deserved to pick up all three points eventually.

However, FC Goa will be disappointed to have dropped all three points here and they will feel that they could have easily taken something from tonight’s contest.
