Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum is set to join Bayern Munich when his contract expires in July.

The Dutch international will join the German club on a free transfer, and the deal is expected to be confirmed soon. Apparently, the talks are in the final stages between the two parties.

The Dutchman has been an incredible servant for Liverpool since joining the club from Newcastle United, and he has helped them win the Premier League title and the Champions League title during his time at Anfield.

Apart from his quality as a footballer, the Dutchman has an excellent attitude, and he has been ever-present for Liverpool. Wijnaldum’s durability and fitness have been an asset for Jurgen Klopp during an injury-hit campaign.

The Reds have had several injury problems this year, but Wijnaldum has been available for selection every week.

It will be interesting to see if he can establish himself as a regular starter for Bayern Munich next year.

There is no doubt that the Dutch international has the quality to play at the highest level with the German club, and he could be the ideal replacement for players like Javi Martinez.

Bayern Munich have lost experienced players like Jerome Boateng and David Alaba this summer, and Wijnaldum’s winning experience and leadership could be invaluable to their dressing room as well.

Furthermore, he is a versatile player who can play anywhere in the midfield. It could be an added bonus for the German champions.
