Robert Lewandowski of Bayern Munich celebrating goal against Barcelona-UEFA Champions League -

Bayern Munich will be looking to keep their place at the top of the Bundesliga table when they travel to Deutsche Bank Park on Saturday to play Eintracht Frankfurt.

Venue: Deutsche Bank Park (Frankfurt)

Key Statistics

Eintracht Frankfurt have not scored a goal in 193 minutes of football action.

They have won just one of their last six league games (D1, L4).

Martin Hinteregger has scored more goals against Bayern (four) than against any other club in his career.

The hosts have already lost four games at home this season, including the last three in a row. One more would equal a club record of consecutive home defeats.

Die Adler have beaten Bayern twice in a row; the last time they beat the Bavarians three times in a row was between 1976 and 1977.

Bayern Munich have been behind at half-time in their last three matches, although they have not conceded in the second halves of those games, scoring six.

Robert Lewandowski has scored 16 goals away from home this season, just one shy of the league record for away goals in a single season by one player.

Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann has not beaten Frankfurt in his past four attempts (two draws, two defeats). He’s currently on a run of just one win across ten personal H2Hs against the club (D4, L5).

Head to head

Frankfurt have troubled Bayern in recent meetings with the hosts winning the last two head-to-head meetings.

But over the last 15 meetings, Bayern have ten wins while Frankfurt have four wins (D1).

Eintracht Frankfurt

Eintracht Frankfurt’s poor run of form continued last weekend as they were beaten 1-0 by FC Koln.

The defeat means Oliver Glasner’s side have won just once in their last six league outings (D1, L4).

They are now sitting in tenth place, nine points ahead of Augsburg in 16th. Despite their secure position ahead of this round, they are at risk of being sucked into a relegation battle if they are not careful.

Since reaching their highest league position of the campaign (sixth) with their win over Mainz back in December, the hosts have since faded away in the race for European qualification as the gap to the top six seemingly widens with each passing week.

A big part of the problem is their inability to score goals as Die Adler have fired blanks in three of their last four matches. But after their 2-1 win over the champions in the reverse fixture, they will be confident of getting an excellent result here.

However, they will have to do without the services of Kristijan Jakic, though, who picked up a fifth yellow card of the season on Matchday 23. Also, Daichi Kamada, who is struggling with a knee complaint, is unavailable for the game.

Possible Frankfurt starting line-up

Kevin Trapp; Tuta, Martin Hinteregger, Evan N’Dicka; Timothy Chandler, Djibril Sow, Sebastian Rode, Christopher Lenz; Jesper Lindstrom, Filip Kostic; Rafael Borre.

Injured: Ragner Ache, Goncalo Paciencia, Dian Ramaj

Doubtful: None

Suspended: Kristijan Jakic

Bayern Munich

After a disappointing showing in the UCL last week against Salzburg, Bayern got back to winning ways in the league last weekend as they defeated Greuther Furth 4-1.

The league leaders were trailing 1-0 at halftime after Branimir Hrgota had scored for the visitors. But Lewandowski struck twice in the second half to ensure Julian Nagelsmann’s team stay six points clear at the top.

Those were Lewandowski’s 27th and 28th strikes of the season and the Poland captain is well on his way to beating his own remarkable 41-goal single-season goals record of last season.

Bayern meanwhile come into this tie without a win against Frankfurt in their last two meetings (L2). They have now failed to win in back-to-back away games for the first time this season after a midweek Champions League draw with Salzburg (1-1).

They will now look to avoid successive away league defeats for the first time since May 2015 after an embarrassing 4-2 defeat to Bochum in their last Bundesliga road trip.

Meanwhile, Julian Nagelsmann will be without Thomas Müller, Alphonso Davies, Leon Goretzka, Manuel Neuer and Corentin Tolisso.

Possible Bayern starting line-up

Sven Ulreich, Benjamin Pavard, Niklas Sule, Dayot Upamecano, Lucas Hernandez, Marcel Sabitzer, Joshua Kimmich, Serge Gnabry, Jamal Musiala, Kingsley Coman, Robert Lewandowski.

Injured: Thomas Müller, Alphonso Davies, Leon Goretzka, Manuel Neuer and Corentin Tolisso

Doubtful: Lucas Hernandez

Suspended: None

Prediction

Frankfurt 1-3 Bayern
