Sevilla agree Rafa Mir transfer

Atletico Madrid have been linked with a move for Rafa Mir this summer but the Spanish champions have missed out on his signing.

According to reports, Sevilla have agreed on a deal to sign the attacker for a fee of around €16 million.

Mir was on loan at Huesca last season and he managed to score 16 goals for them.

Atletico Madrid will have to turn their attention elsewhere in order to improve their attacking options now. Apparently, they had a move in place to sign Mir but their desire to move for Matheus Cunha and Dusan Vlahovic allowed Sevilla to swoop in and sign the player.

Mir is highly rated across Europe and he could have been a quality long term acquisition for the La Liga champions. It will be interesting to see how he performs with Sevilla now.

Atletico Madrid closing in on Matheus Cunha

Atletico Madrid are thought to be closing in on the signing of Matheus Cunha from Hertha Berlin.

The 22-year-old had an outstanding campaign with the German outfit last season and he carried that form into the Olympics with Brazil.

He helped his country win the football tournament in the Olympics and he is now a gold medalist.

The South American forward has the potential to develop into a top-class player in the future and his signing could prove to be a quality long term investment from the Spanish champions.

Atletico Madrid have agreed on personal terms with the player and they are now sorting out the details of the move with his club.
