Frenkie de Jong is the second highest-paid player after Messi.

Barcelona reportedly have the highest wage bill in Europe and you will be shocked to see the numbers their players earn on a weekly basis.

As expected, Barca skipper Lionel Messi tops the list by a mile as the highest-paid player, earning £584,000 per week.

The Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong, who Barca signed from Ajax in 2019, is second on the list with a weekly salary of £354,000. In addition to the good performances on the field, the young midfielder’s salary numbers are astonishing.

Antoine Griezmann follows De Jong with a salary of £345,000 a week. The French man has struggled in his debut season at the Nou Camp but the Blaugrana are slowly starting to witness his brilliance.

Veteran players Sergio Busquets and Gerard Pique are next up on the list while young winger Ousmane Dembele also earns a weekly salary in six figures.

La Masia talents Riqui Puig and Inaki Pena earn around £25,000 per week while the teenager Pedri, who Barca signed from Las Palmas, is getting paid a weekly salary of £15,000.

Barca are one of the clubs that have been hit severely by the financial crisis caused by the pandemic. Recent reports also stated that the club owes a debt of over €1 billion, which would affect their transfer plans in the summer.
