Real Madrid are plotting for a major summer overhaul and the Spanish La Liga club are now looking to reduce their wage bill drastically in order to bring in quality players like Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland in the future.

According to AS, the Spanish club are prepared to put up several players for sale including the likes of Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard, Marcelo, Isco, Luka Jovic and Jesus Vallejo.

Apparently, these players command wages of around €54 million and their departure will allow the club to invest in quality new players and renew contracts of key players like Vinicius Junior.

There is no doubt that Real Madrid will have to revamp the squad In order to keep competing for the major trophies.

Carlo Ancelotti has several top-class players at his disposal but most of them are in their twilight years and Real Madrid will have to bring in talented young players in the near future.

In addition to that, the aforementioned players have not been able to deliver consistently for Real Madrid recently and it would be sensible for the club to move on the deadwood.

It will be interesting to see if they can pull off the signings of Mbappe and Haaland in the coming months.

The French World Cup winner will be a free agent next summer and he will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with Real Madrid when the transfer window reopens in January.

Meanwhile, Haaland is also expected to leave Borussia Dortmund next summer when his release clause kicks in and the Spanish giants will be able to sign him for a reasonable price.
