Manchester City are looking to offer player plus cash in order to sign Lionel Messi from Barcelona this summer.
The 33-year-old is frustrated with the lack of ambition at the club, and he’s looking to leave the Spanish giants this summer.
The Argentine superstar has been linked with a move to the Premier League, and it seems that Manchester City are keen on reuniting him with Pep Guardiola.
Messi played some of his best football under the Spanish manager, and it would be a sensational signing for the Premier League and Manchester City if the player moves to Etihad.
As per reports, Manchester City are willing to offer 89 million pounds in cash and the trio of Bernardo Silva, Gabriel Jesus, Eric Garcia to the La Liga side.
Jesus and Silva have been critical players for Manchester City over the last few years, and they could prove to be quality additions to the Barcelona side.
Meanwhile, Eric Garcia is highly rated at Manchester City but the defender wants to leave the club this summer. The talented young centre back intends to move to Barcelona, and he could be the ideal long term replacement for Gerrard Pique.
It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can agree on the transfer in the coming weeks now.
Player plus cash deals are often complicated; it will be challenging to execute.
That said, if Messi is keen on the move, Manchester City certainly have the resources to make it happen.
