Chelsea have been linked with a move for the Real Madrid left back Sergio Reguilon this summer.

The defender has been on loan at Sevilla this past season and he was fantastic for them. Reguilon helped them win the Europa League last night and it will be interesting to see if Sevilla decides to sign him permanently in the coming weeks.

It is no secret that Chelsea need to sign a quality left back this summer but they are thought to be closing in on a deal to sign the Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell.

If the Blues manage to sign the England international, a move for Reguilon seems highly unlikely.

The Spaniard is better off staying at Sevilla. He is already a key player for them and he is likely to get regular first team football at the Spanish club.

Chilwell is likely to be the first choice for Frank Lampard next season and Reguilon is too good to sit on the bench at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues are expected to cash in on Emerson Palmieri this summer and unless they sell Marcos Alonso as well, signing two left backs would be quite a surprise.

According to reports, Real Madrid are ready to sell Reguilon this summer for a fee of around 25 million euros.

Chelsea can certainly afford to pay that but the reality is that they do not need to sign the Spaniard if a deal for Chilwell is completed in the coming weeks.
