Barcelona update: Lyon manager hits out at Koeman, Verratti talks Messi, Ronald Araujo injury update

Barcelona appointed Ronald Koeman as new manager

Rudi Garcia hits out at Koeman

Lyon manager Rudi Garcia has hit out at Ronald Koeman after the Dutchman got annoyed over Messi’s transfer speculations to PSG.

Koeman had criticized Angel Di Maria for his comments on Messi moving to Barcelona, deeming it as disrespectful one.

Now, Lyon gaffer Garcia has taken a swipe at Koeman by pointing out the fact the Dutchman couldn’t stop talking about Barca’s target Memphis Depay for the last few months even after the transfer windows were closed.

“I read that Ronald Koeman was a little offended that PSG spoke about Lionel Messi at the club before a Champions League match.

“He was not shy, even after the transfer window, to talk about Memphis Depay.

“It is called the water sprinkler and the sprinkler has been sprinkled.”

Verratti, the latest PSG player to talk about Messi

Following Leandro Paredes, Neymar, Di Maria, midfielder Marco Verratti becomes the latest PSG player to talk about Barcelona skipper Lionel Messi. The Italian international declared that it would be a dream come true to play alongside Messi.

Of course, I’d like to play with Messi. “I’d be giving the ball to Neymar and Messi, standing back and watching.

“It’d be fantastic to have him with us – another gift that football would’ve given me.”

Araujo doubtful for PSG clash with a sprained ankle

Ronald Araujo was forced off the field early on in the game against Real Betis due to what looked like a knee injury. Now, it is revealed that the Uruguayan has suffered a sprained ankle, which will keep out of action for a few weeks, meaning that he would be doubtful for the Champions League clash against PSG.
