Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard.

The Belgian international winger has struggled to hit top form since joining the Spanish club and it appears that Real Madrid are willing to cash in on him.

However, newly appointed Tottenham manager Antonio Conte is against signing the former Chelsea player and he would prefer to sign the Belgian’s teammate Gareth Bale instead.

Bale was on loan at Tottenham last season and he did reasonably well for the Londoners.

Tottenham could certainly use more pace and flair in their attack and Bale could prove to be a quality short term addition, but it’s to be if Bale has enough fire-power for Premier League.

According to journalist Eduardo Inda (via Express),  Daniel Levy wanted to bring Hazard to the London club but Conte is not keen on the idea because the former Chelsea star has little intensity and he is not a hard-working player. The Italian manager has a demanding style of play and Hazard will struggle to adapt given his current fitness problems.

Meanwhile, Gareth Bale will be a free agent at the end of this season and he could be signed for a knockdown price when the transfer window reopens in January.

Real Madrid will not want to lose a player of his calibre on a free transfer and it would be wise of them to cash in on him if a good offer comes in during the winter transfer window.

As for Bale, a transfer to Tottenham would be a return to his comfort zone and Conte could help him recapture his world-class form.
