Arsenal have spent more than any other Premier League club during the transfer window. Now it should be the time for Mikel Arteta to deliver.

Arsenal finished eighth in the Premier League table last season with just 61 points from 38 matches.

The Gunners have not played Champions League football for a while now and for a club of their stature, it is simply unacceptable.

The fans have been calling for the club hierarchy to show more ambition in the transfer market and strengthen the squad sufficiently.

It seems that the Arsenal board have finally decided to loosen the purse strings and no Premier League club has paid more than the Gunners in this summer’s transfer window.

According to reports, Arsenal have shelled out a total of £132.2 million on new signings.

The Gunners have improved their defence with the signings of Ben White and Nuno Tavares.

Albert Lokonga has been brought in to add more depth to the midfield.

Mikel Arteta has also signed a quality backup option for Bernd Leno by bringing in Aaron Ramsdale from Sheffield United.

Martin Odegaard was on loan at Arsenal from Real Madrid last season and the young Norwegian wood fielder was quite impressive for the London club.

The Gunners have managed to convince Real Madrid to sell the player to them permanently and Odegaard will certainly improve arsenal in the final third.

It remains to be seen whether the Gunners can improve their attacking options now.

With just 10 days left in the transfer market, Arsenal need to move quickly if they want to bring in a quality goal scorer.

It has been an eventful transfer window for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta has received significant backing from the club hierarchy.

There can be no excuses from the Spaniard now and it will be interesting to see if he can deliver and guide the Gunners back into the Champions League.
