Chelsea believe that Robert Lewandowski would undoubtedly prove a fearsome finisher despite being in his thirties. Who knows, it might be a good turning point for Chelsea next season.
Speaking to Goal, the former blues Scott Minto suggests that Lewandowski is the best replacement for Lukaku. The commentator thinks the Poland star is a better starting option, to move on from Belgian.
Chelsea signed Romelu Lukaku with much effort for his worth last term. Still, Lukaku failed to fulfil his capability despite the FIFA World Club Cup success, as Chelsea fell short in the chase for silverware elsewhere.
Scott Minto – The turning point for Chelsea
“I personally would like to see Tuchel somehow have the conversation with Lukaku and say ‘what do we need to do to get the best out of you’,” Minto told talkSPORT.
“It’s not going to happen. We know that. Tuchel has said it’s not about us adjusting to him. He has to adjust to us. It has clearly not happened.
“Lewandowski would be absolutely superb in the short term. Even if he’s on a two-year contract, he might get away with a three. He’s proven right now. Chelsea are all about the here and now, they have been for the last two decades.”
Meanwhile, Lewandowski is seeking to force a move out of Bayern Munich. In previous reports, Barcelona are trying to win him from his current club. Perhaps it will be exciting to see Lewandowski in Premier League with Chelsea next season.
