Crystal Palace close to concluding Donny van de Beek deal

Donny van de Beek-Manchester United

Crystal Palace have sped up their attempts to bring Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek to Selhurst Park on a six-month loan deal.

The Eagles have been in discussion about signing the Dutch star after the possibility of the deal emerged at the start of the week.

According to a report by Dailymail, there is now significant hope at the London club that a deal for the former Ajax midfielder can be successful in time for Monday’s deadline.

Manchester United are said to be open to letting Van de Beek leave this month and have given Palace the green light to enter a discussion with the 24-year-old.

Van de Beek has struggled for game time since signing from Ajax in a deal worth £40million in 2020. He has been in and out of the team under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and interim coach Ralf Rangnick. This season, he has made just four Premier League starts in that time and would now welcome the opportunity to play regular first-team football.

A deal for van de Beek will be one of the biggest deals of the winter window following a few movements of players this January. His signing will also be a tremendous boost for Patrick Vieira’s side, who are looking to finish in the top half of the Premier League table.
