Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard is looking to leave the club when his contract expires.

According to the Times, the 28-year-old is frustrated with the club’s behaviour during discussions of a contract extension and he has no plans to restart talks with the Red Devils.

The England international will be out of contract at the end of this season and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Lingard has struggled to hold down a regular starting berth at Manchester United this season and he was linked with a move to West Ham United at the start of the campaign. However, the 28-year-old chose to stay at Old Trafford and fight for his place.

Lingard was on loan at West Ham during the second half of last season and he was outstanding for the London side.

It will be interesting to see if West Ham decide to resurrect their interest in signing the 28-year-old at the end of this season. Lingard is well settled in the Premier League and he could prove to be a quality addition on a free transfer.

The report from Times adds that Lingard could look to secure a loan move away from Manchester United for the second half of the season. The player is frustrated with the lack of game time at Old Trafford and he wants to play regularly.

With the World Cup coming up next year Lingard will need to play more often in order to cement his place in the England squad. It will be interesting to see how his future unfolds over the next few months.
