Leeds United 0-0 Chelsea: Tuchel’s side continue their unbeaten run after 12 games

Chelsea FC has suffered a goalless draw against Leeds United, as the blues has missed an opportunity to be in the top three in the Premier League tonight.

In this season, the Blues remain unbeaten for the thirteenth match. They are currently fourth in the Premier League table and are improved their chances to qualify in the Champions League, since Tuchel took over.

Thomas Tuchel‘s side has come stronger in this match after their win over Everton earlier this week. The side was bolstered as players like Ben Chilwell, Ngolo Kante, Hakim Ziyech, Antonio Rudiger, and Christian Pullisic came back in. Also, Edouward Mendy returned as the keeper. Kai Havertz started his centre forward position and instrumental

Leeds returned Ezgjan Alioski and Jack Harrison. Pascal Strujik came in the place of their injured captain Liam Cooper.

The best chance Leeds got in the early moments of the match. The ball found the net after a swift shot from Tyler Roberts, but it counted as offside.

The Peacocks had their fair share of good and bad moments in the game. At the 11th minute, a clearance from Luke Ayling met the crossbar and landed in the safe hands of Illan Meslier. Just after a few minutes, Robert’s unfortunate shot found the crossbar of the Blues’ net.

Pullisic was creating trouble every time in the Leeds defence, but it was of no avail.

At the 32nd minute, Patrick Bamford got injured. He came back but finally was replaced by Rodrigo Moreno. This injury can pose as quite a big blow to Leeds United when they host the next game against Fulham on Friday.

The substitute, Rodrigo took a shot from afar, which was cleared by Meslier. That was one of the closest the match came to a decider.

Leeds United might be missing their skipper tonight. The result could have been in their favour if Cooper was present for them on the field.

Although Chelsea had a major share of the ball possessions, they have failed to get a breakthrough. Now, they managed to stay three points ahead of West Ham, but with two more matches under the belt.

It is worth watching what their plans will be when they face West Brom in their next Premier League match. It is an uphill battle for the London team to secure their place in the top 4 this season.

Evidently, we played against a team that is superior to ours. To be able to play a game like we did today, we had to make an enormous effort.

I don’t want to be too harsh because sometimes it’s hard to score.” “As long as we have chances, and lots of touches in the box, the results will be there.

I believe we have enough quality to create more and to be more clinical. It is my responsibility to create more and to have even more big chances.

Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea manager

Obviously it is being an irregular year. At first I had to adapt & it was difficult for me to get into the team; When I did, I caught COVID, 2 weeks totally stopped, & when I got back in the rhythm, I got injured & I have been a month without being able to play.

In my case, he treated me very well from the beginning. He has a peculiar way of understanding football and a very different way, very, very different … His personality is very marked. It is quite an experience to be able to work with him.

His work methodology has nothing to do with what I’ve encountered with other coaches. It is a more analytical way of working. The physical part has a brutal importance. The requirement is maximum. The relationship with the player is purely professional.
