Liverpool 4-3 Leeds Salah saves the blushes as Champions struggle to cope with Bielsa-ball

Liverpool picked up a thrilling 4-3 win over Leeds United in their Premier League opener today at Anfield.

Mohamed Salah handed the home side the lead early on in the game when he converted from the spot. Leeds new boy Robin Koch had given away the penalty after handling the ball in the box.

However, the Liverpool lead did not last long and Jack Harrison got the Whites back on level terms with a fantastic solo run and finish. The on-loan winger found the net from the edge of the area after beating Alexander-Arnold and Gomez.

Virgil van Dijk headed the Champions into the lead once again but Marcelo Bielsa’s fearless side found a way back into the game eventually.

A mistake from the Dutch defender allowed Patrick Bamford to score from the edge of the box.

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah scored the pick of the goals to put the home side ahead once again. The Egyptian controlled the ball finely on his right foot and hammered one into the top corner to give the Reds a 3-2 lead going into half time.

Leeds United seemed more determined in the second half and the visitors enjoyed a lot of possession after the break.

The Whites managed to equalize for the third time in the game when Mateusz Klich controlled a pass from Costa in the Liverpool box and volleyed it in.

However, the Champions proved their mettle eventually with a late goal. Rodrigo’s poorly timed tackle on Fabinho earned the Reds another penalty and Salah bagged his hattrick and the winner for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
