Manchester United are expected to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer soon.

Manchester United are understood to be on the lookout for a new manager due to the prospective dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Many reports are suggesting that Man Utd have decided to sack the Norwegian manager in the wake of the humiliating Premier League defeat to Watford yesterday.

With the official announcement looming, United appear to have begun their search for a new manager.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that former Man Utd legends Darren Fletcher and Michael Carrick are being considered for the interim role.

High profile names like Zinedine Zidane and Brendan Rodgers have also been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks.

However, according to the Daily Express, United have identified two shocking names as a potential successor to Solskjaer: Julen Lopetegui and Laurent Blanc.

Blanc, who currently manages Qatari club Al-Rayyan, had previously managed PSG between 2013 and 2106 and led the French giants to a host of domestic trophies.

The 56-year-old also spent two years with Man Utd during his playing career. United are considering Blanc only as a makeshift option.

Lopetegui is understood to be a long-term target as United have been impressed with his work at Sevilla.

The Spanish manager has resurrected Sevilla into one of Europe’s top clubs and also helped them finish inside the top four of La Liga over the last two seasons.

The former Real Madrid gaffer was targeted by Tottenham Hotspur in the summer but he turned down the offer to stay committed to the Andalusian outfit.

Zidane is a top target for the Red Devils to succeed Solskjaer but the reports state that the French gaffer would wait until summer to take up the job.

Zidane, who led Madrid to three consecutive Champions League titles, has been without a job since leaving the Spanish giants at the end of the last season.
