Mauricio Pochettino open to Premier League return, could be considered for the Manchester United role

Mauricio Pochettino - Favourite to take charge as Newcastle Manager

Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with a return to the Premier League.

According to the Telegraph, the Argentine manager will consider returning to England for his next job and he could be considered for a role at Manchester United if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is sacked.

Manchester United have made a very poor start to the Premier League season despite their impressive summer outlay and it will be interesting to see if the Norwegian manager can hold onto his job for the coming weeks.

The Red Devils are currently 6th in the standings with 17 points from 11 league games.

Manchester United signed the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho during the summer transfer window and they were expected to challenge the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City for the league title.

Pochettino would undoubtedly be an upgrade on Solskjaer and it remains to be seen whether Manchester United are prepared to appoint the Argentine as the new manager. There have been reports that the Norwegian’s position is still safe despite the recent results.

The Argentine has managed in the Premier League before with Tottenham Hotspur and he did an outstanding job with the London club.

Mauricio Pochettino helped Tottenham reach the finals of the Champions League and he helped them challenge for the Premier League title as well.

The current Paris Saint-Germain manager achieved all of that with limited resources and he could certainly do a better job at Manchester United given their financial muscle.

A club of Manchester United’s stature should be challenging for the Premier League title every season and it remains to be seen how things unfold in the next few weeks.
