Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under tremendous pressure after the derby defeat against Manchester City at the weekend but it seems that the club hierarchy have no plans to sack him just yet.

The Red Devils had an exceptional summer transfer window and they managed to sign top-class players like Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo. They were expected to challenge for the Premier League title this season.

Instead, Manchester United find themselves 6th in the standings, nine points adrift of league leaders Chelsea.

It is clear that Solskjaer has failed to get the best out of his players and Sky Sports are now reporting that a number of Manchester United players are not convinced that the Norwegian is the right man to manage the club and turn things around at Old Trafford.

It seems that the Norwegian is losing his dressing room and it will be interesting to see if he can hold on to his job in the coming months.

Manchester United will be hoping to regroup after the international break and the results will need to improve drastically in order for the Norwegian to stay in charge of the Premier League giants.

Manchester United cannot afford to miss out on a top-four finish, but their current form is worrying and they could soon fall further behind their top-four rivals if they do not improve their performances.

Meanwhile, the club’s insistence to back the Norwegian despite the recent run of performances will certainly leave the fanbase frustrated.

The Red Devils have been beaten convincingly by the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City in their last few Premier League matches.

It is understandable why the fans want a change now and it remains to be seen how the situation unfolds at Old Trafford in the coming weeks.
