Tottenham are hoping to sign Ruben Neves from Wolverhampton Wanderers before the transfer window closes.
The Portuguese international has been a key player for the Molineux outfit since joining the club and he is undoubtedly one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League right now. He has been linked with a move to Spurs earlier this summer as well.
Tottenham could use more depth and quality in the central midfield and Neves could form a superb partnership with Pierre Emile Hojbjerg at the heart of Nuno Espirito Santo’s midfield.
The newly appointed Tottenham manager has worked with Neves during their time together at Wolves and he knows all about the Portuguese international’s strengths and weaknesses.
Apart from being an exceptional passer, Neves will chip in with goals as well.
The Portuguese international is lethal from the long-range and he could be an asset from set-pieces as well.
It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can convince Wolverhampton Wanderers to sell their best midfielder to them at this stage of the window.
Wolves will struggle to find a replacement as good as nervous with so little time left.
The Premier League side have been linked with a move for Renato Sanches from Lille and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few hours.
Sanches had an impressive campaign with Lille and he did well in the European championship as well. He could be a quality replacement for Neves if the Wolves star decides to move on this summer.
