- Ante Rebic scored the winner from cross from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, once again after Udinese match in last weekend
- Milan are unbeaten with four wins and a draw since Ibrahimovic returned
- Gianluigi Donnarumma produced some spectacular saves
AC Milan beat Brescia 1-0 at Stadio Mario Rigamonti, as Ante Rebic scored his third goal in two matches, goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma produced some superb saves to earn three points for the Rossoneri. With this win, Milan climbed into the Europa League places in Serie A.
Rebic, who scored twice in the win against Udinese last weekend, latched on a loose ball directly in front of the goal following a cross from Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the 71st minute. Since Zlatan’s return to Milan during winter break, Milan are unbeaten with four wins and a draw across all competitions.
From close range, the 38-year-old missed the target and thus squandered what was a brilliant chance to take the lead already in the first half. Certainly, Ibrahimovic will be disappointed with himself, as he usually tucks away these chances with ease.
As reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport, Mino Raiola – who was in the stands for the game last night – commented on his client’s big miss. Of course, the agent put a humorous spin to his answer. “I will beat him for that mistake,” he jokingly told the newspaper.
Gianluigi Donnarumma produced several spectacular saves to deny Dimitri Bisoli and Ernesto Torregrossa. AC Milan fullback Theo Hernandez hit the crossbar in the closing minutes.
AC Milan jumped up to the sixth place with three back to back wins. They are now four points behind fifth-place Atalanta.
Brescia played without Mario Balotelli, who is serving suspension for two matches after a red card during last weekend. Brescia are currently fighting relegation and remained one point above last-place Genoa.
